Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Art and Design, 1848-1900

The first main survey of the art of the Pre-Raphaelites were shown in the United States on February 17-May 19, 2013, which featured 130 paintings, sculptures, work on paper and decorative art objects, etc. the Pre-Raphaelitism was Britain’s first avant-garde movement to be formed in 1848, which they shook the art world of the mid-19th century Britain by not using traditional methods to painting such as combining scientific precision, an innovative approach to subject matter, and brilliant, clear colours.
